I have two flights coming up—my first in five years due to anxiety. Can you recommend an engrossing but not-too-difficult audiobook with great voice actor(s)? I read most genres except mystery. Nothing too heavy and dark. Doesn’t need to be the *happiest* ending, but some hope and optimism would be nice.
Some titles I’ve sped through recently:
– Scholomance series by Naomi Novik
– All Creatures Great and Small and sequels by James Herriot, read by Nicholas Ralph
– Straight Man by Richard Russo
– Menewood by Nicola Griffith
– Sourdough by Robin Sloan
– How to Hide An Empire by Daniel Immerwehr
– Too Like the Lightning and sequels by Ada Palmer
– Babel by R.F. Kuang
– The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty
– Born a Crime by Trevor Noah
– Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe
