Hello all! I’m really hoping you can help me, and I hope this is okay to post.
I’m in a publication class and I’ve been tasked to find comp titles for my book, however I’m having a difficult time with this. Im not used to writing in the crime/detective genre. A lot of the titles I’m finding are self published (professor wants trad publish only) or have come out more than 3-5 years ago.
I would love any suggestions on a crime/mystery/detective book that has a romance between a cop/agent/detective and a (serial) killer/criminal. Very big bonus if it’s lgbtq+. Aside from this helping me with my class, I absolutely need to read more in this genre as well, so these recommendations will not go to waste, I promise!

TLDR; I need crime/detective books that highlight a romance between a cop/detective and a killer/criminal. Or honestly even just someone good and someone bad. Maybe morally gray? Traditionally published in the last 5 (but preferably 3) years. LGBTQ+ would be great, but not necessary.
P.S. Books that have the theme of two people working together (who really shouldn’t be) and falling in love might work too!
