I’ll share a story with you guys.

A few months ago, I started with the Maze Runner series. I had already watched the movies a couple of times, and I definitely loved the series. Reading the first page of the first book became, in and of itself, a point of no-return for me. I couldn’t put the books down, and finished the whole series in just four days.

The Scorch Trials was just phenomenal. It took me on such an incredible rollercoaster of emotions, I fell sick for two days. But I still kept on reading, despite being sick. I just *had* to find out what happened next.

Did any book did this to you? What were the things you noticed about it that set it apart from the other books you read?

Feel free to quote paragraphs, but do mark spoilers.

    1. Terry Pratchett books. I would just find myself chuckling quietly without realising it, or nodding “yup”.

There’s a scene in Irvine Welsh’s “Glue” where one of the boys is meeting one of his teacher’s daughters. It’s all in his teenage mind, but his thoughts are just hilarious. That made me truly love the book since I can remember being a teenager with similar thoughts. Also that scene had me laughing way more than I should.

    3. the secret history by donna tartt. >!the scene where julian talks about the bacchanal with the students was THE moment for me. !<read the whole thing in three days, and suffered one of the best-worst book hangovers of my life.
