Just finished Piranesi by Susanna Clarke and want more speculative fiction of this quality! Need a suggestion for my next book club.
Looking for a page turner but that has at least some literary merit.
I tend to like space, dystopian, or clifi but also weird and magical.

Maybe Exhalation by Ted Chiang, it’s a speculative fiction short story collection so you could pick one story or do the whole thing. I would say it absolutely has literary merit, and I believe it has the awards to back that up.
I like the stories “The merchant and the alchemists gate”, “The lifecycle of software objects”, “Anxiety is the Dizziness of Freedom”
