As the title says, I wanna travel. I’m from France, and I’ve recently read Jane Eyre. I didn’t know much about life in England at the end of the 18th century, I learnt a lot and the story was lovely.

Now I wanna go somewhere else! As long as it doesn’t happen today in France, I’m open to anything.

I’d be very grateful for a few suggestions! Thanks ❤️

    1. Last Summer in the City – Gianfranco Calligarich – summer in Rome in the 60s

winter in sokcho – Elisa Shua Dusapin – sokcho South Korea in modern times (I believe this was originally written in French too?)

The savage detectives – Roberto Bolaño – Mexico City and the Sonora desert in the 1970s, also little snippets of lots of other places (tiny bit in France, a lot in Barcelona, some in Israel and Nicaragua)

Macunaima by Mario de Andrade, a classic Brazilian fantasy that takes place in the Amazon and features gods and creatures from indigenous mythology
