I’m reading the Inheritance Games YA books and just stumbled across this in the second book.
“Alisa’s memory was a sieve—and I knew in my bones that she would never forget what had just happened. She probably wouldn’t forgive it, either.”
Having a memory like a sieve means to always be forgetting. This phrase is referencing a character who is supposed to never forget stuff.
How could this get missed in editing?
I didn’t know where else to post this, so I picked r/books 🙂
