A Feral Darkness by Doranna Durgin leaps to mind. Brenna’s hair is incredibly long, and the book has both the good and bad of having to deal with it. It’s a horror novel that features a heroic corgi. The main character is a dog groomer and it’s full of details of her life that make you just sure that the author actually did that job at some point, I really enjoy books that give me details of a profession that way.
