I’m trying to help a family member who lacks motivation to step out of their comfort zone and try new things. It feels like everything I recommend to them doesn’t seem very appealing so I’m trying to find books they can read that might motivate them and spark their interest in getting back into the world again. This individual is F(50+) and stays at home most of the time. She finds it hard to go out and do things alone or to make friends. I’ve recommended that she goes to therapy to try and work out some of these road blocks, but due to bad therapy sessions before, she’s not interested. Can anyone recommend some books I could give her or any advice on how to help her as someone younger?
