I haven’t read a single book since I was in elementary school. But I just don’t know what book I have to pick. I want an emotionally mature book, set in a realistic modern setting, which is greatly written, where I can just immersive myself in a whole other world for weeks or months. There are just a few problems, first of all I’m 14, but I don’t see that as that big of an issue, but I’m mostly concerned that it has to be an enjoyable book for my young mind. Second is, that I’m Dutch and I love to read books in English, but it has to be an easy read, if you understand what I mean. And third, which is almost the same as the first, I haven’t read a book in a very long time, (except for Maus when I was 12.) so it has to be a book where you’re easily immersed in to a beautiful and realistic story. Okay, I am not going to explain what exactly I like because that would take an enormous amount of time and energy, plus, I just don’t really know. But in exchange for that I’m going to give a list of books which I have been remotely interested in but never actually tried out.
Here’s the list: 1984, A Song of Ice and Fire, Animal Farm, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Diary of a Young Girl, Dune, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, How to kill a Mockingbird, Mr. Mercedes, Night, Pet Sematary, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, The Hobbit, The Kiss Quotient, The Little Prince, The Lord of the Rings, The Second World War (Antony Beevor), The Shining, World War II for Dummies.
These are books that were recommended, gifted, and just ones I thought would be interesting. These books are thus also in my library, so these I can read without spending extra money. (Which btw isn’t a problem. And also I haven’t read these specific books. And you also have to know that these books were bought in a large timespan, so that’s why there are also some children’s novels. And also, please give me other recommendations if you want to.)
Also, if you have the time, it would be great if you take my list of books, and review them all, and tell your opinions about them, and when to read the books, because I want to read every single book on the list. Thanks in advance.
Ohh and here’s a list of a couple of movies I watched and liked if that would benefit you: Pulp Fiction, The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, Schindler’s List, Inglourious Basterds, Oppenheimer, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Reservoir Dogs, Der Untergang, Kill Bill, Jaws, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Saving Private Ryan.
