My wife and I are going to read a book together. She likes physical books, and I prefer audiobooks. She prefers mystery, thriller, and romance books, and I prefer fantasy, sci-fi, and adventure books. We would prefer a book that has a movie or TV show that we can watch when finished.

    1. Good Omens would fit

You might also like the Brother Cadfael books by Ellis Peter’s – it might be more your wife’s cup of tea, but it’s set in mediaeval England and sometimes I find well written historical fiction scratches my fantasy itch well enough.

Both of the above have a TV series.

The Outlander series, it’s also a show series. Trigger warning, there are some pretty traumatic rape scenes but if you can get past that it’s an amazing story with 9 big books and some side books and short stories as well.

The Princess Bride. It has “fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles…” The movie is awesome, and the book is kind of structured to read like an audio book

In Death series by JD Robb. My husband enjoys listening to these with me on road trips

      Murderbot Diaries,

The two sequels to the Goblin Emperor,

      Ninth House by Bardugo,

Black Water sister by Zen Cho,

(All mysteries with either fantasy or science fiction)

I suggest this but the other way around. Watch the movie and listen to the book because the audio has the cast 20 years after the making of the movie.

      Watch the Princess Bride

Listen to the audiobook As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride by Cary Elwes. Elwes (westley) narrates it himself, and it’s so wholesome and nostalgic if you grew up on the movie like I did.

There is a book the book the Princess Bride, by William Goldman, but I haven’t read that, but you could always do a trifecta. Read the original Princess Bride, watch the movie, and listen to the aidiobook of the making of the movie.
