Hi, I hope there are some kind souls in here that can recommend a good detective series to read. I prefer it being British, but I do dabble with stories happening in the US.

I have enjoyed book series such as CB Strike, detective Dan Riley, Jackman & Evans, and A timber creek k-9 mystery

I am okay with romance being there, as long as it is not a main theme.

I have been over books by Lisa Jewell and K.L Slater, but they don’t really catch my intrest.

Hope some of you can help 🙂

    1. ed mcbain’s 87th precinct is the best but if you’re looking for british stuff, look into ian rankin, colin dexter, graham hurley, mark billingham, ruth rendell, john harvey, peter james and peter robinson.

I have recently been enjoying books by Anthony Horowitz. I started with the Hawthorne and Horowitz series. The first book is The Word is Murder. I also read his Sherlock Holmes book, The House of Silk. This week I read his first book in a different series, Magpie Murders. I’d recommend you start with The Word is Murder. It’s different than any book I’ve ever read because the author himself is one of the characters. He has agreed to write a detective series and is following around this retired detective, Hawthorne, who is called in by the police to help with difficult cases. He is kind of the Watson and Hawthorne is the Holmes.
