Hello. I’m eager to become a much better speaker and improve on the way I can express myself. Iv been told the best way to do that is to read. I try to read but my mind to non stop jotting around and I’m easily distracted but I can be made to do it if I’m sufficiently interested. My favourite people to watch online talk and express themselves is the late great Christopher Hitchens and the more recent Douglas Murray, politics aside, they speak very eloquently. But the language in their books goes way over my head, as do a lot of their talks online but I just can’t stop listening to people who are gifted in speech. I’d like suggestions on books that would really be a “beginners guide” to people like I just mentioned or anything similar ( or am I better off starting fiction books that would be easier reads to build vocabulary ? I’m not overly bright) Also I’d like to read some short format news on world events if anyone has some suggestions for that I’d appreciate it. Thanks.
