I had finished reading Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews last week and all I can say was…holy shit. No wonder why teens back in the day would hide under their covers to read this book or keep it in a safe and hidden compartment where their parents won’t find it. The plot was intense.
Her books revolved around incest, twisted family secrets, and abuse which was understandably concerning on the parents’ part why their children would read such a heavily triggering themed book. I’m collecting the books that she had written before her death in 1986. I had some of her books that were ghostwritten by Andrew Neidermann (Beneath the Attic, Out of the Attic, and Shadows of Foxworth) but I won’t be touching them anytime soon.
