I’ve heard awful things about the book, read a few quotes and basically I know the majority of the storyline. I’ve read articles on it, reviews, etc and that’s shaped my own disdain towards the book. I’m a csa victim and I struggle with self harm, so I don’t exactly know if reading this book is going to do any good, but I feel like I can’t just say it’s a terrible book without having read it. I feel like I’d feel better about reading it if I knew Hanya is a victim of the trauma depicted in the book herself instead of it being just used as a way to garner sympathy.
