Does anyone have recommendations for action heavy novels with a literary bend to them. I am in the process of writing some crime stories partially inspired by action movies (John Woo, Tarantino, Spaghetti westerns, and Italian crime films are the influences). I wanted to know if there were books with stories like those that had a more artsy and literary aspiration.

Try The Three Musketeers and Count of Monte Cristo…
Parts of The Goldfinch meet that criteria. (Big parts of it don’t).
I haven’t read it in a decade but if I recall correctly Smila’s Sense of Snow might also fit.
