What the title says. I never had any problems with the books I store in my room, the room got mold, my books never, humidity was a bit higher apparently but they all were fine.
Recently i bought books (paperbacks) and if I left them lying around the covers started curling up.
This very much confuses me, since the new ones are the only ones affected and the older ones all stay flat like I bought them (slightly open after reading). Does anyone have any advice on how to keep this from happening or what might be going on here? Is it dumb to store them lying flat on other books instead of giving them a proper place in the shelf?

Do you have any black mold or soft plaster in your home? It will make you sick.
My guess would be either a glue or paper issue. Looks like a soft touch or matte cover, so it could also be the cellophane.
