Hello, I wonder if someone would be able to point me towards a book series or Author.
I’ve been a fan of ancient treasure hunt stories for a while now, starting off with the Dan Brown Robert Langdon series, Then moving onto the Andy McDermott, Chase/Wilde series.
I haven’t read for a while so thought a good way to kickstart me off reading again would be starting the James Becker series of books that have Chris Bronson as the protagonist (Recently finishing The 1st Apostle, number one in the series), the thing is, even though all these books I’ve mentioned are enjoyable, they always follow the same premise.
* Good guy finds first clue of secret.
* Bad guys also find out about this
* Bad guys always 1 step ahead throughout the treasure hunt / chase
* Good guys win
This is all well and good, however i find myself enjoying the clue examining and treasure hunt side of things rather than the tension created by the bad guy chase.
Does anyone know of anything that has the same level of ancient secret uncovering that focuses on the treasure hunt and not the chase?
