I’m 13 and I adore the psychological genre, I really love films and TV series of this kind, such as Whale, Evangelion, Birdman, etc., but now I want to start reading.
A couple of months ago I read the first part of Crime and Punishment and it was just awesome. True, I probably won’t read the novel any further, many people tell me that I won’t understand, and I think that will be the case. But they tell me to read books like Jules Verne, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Alice in Wonderland… But this is extremely uninteresting to me, just like adventure films.
I want something deeper, but not one that goes into acute social satire, like 1984. I want personal stories, about people, about sins and fears, about love and disappointments, in short, about a person (hello, existentialism). What do you suggest?
