I absolutely loved the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas. It’s the first series I’ve finished after a long hiatus from reading. However I just finished the first book of the Ash Princess trilogy by Laura Sebastian and it’s bothering me the similarities between the two!
Seems like the same concept, and while I’m also enjoying the Ash Princess I feel like it was just wayyy too soon to read after ToG. I’m on the second book (Lady Smoke) and there’s literally a girl named Nesrina who lives in a desert kingdom. And in ToG Nesryn lived in the southern desert kingdom too.
There are other similarities as well but ugh! Has anyone else read these books and thought the same?

I haven’t read these books but I want to read throne of glass. Something I will say is that with the amount of fantasy books out there, many with the same general premise, there’s a large change of the stories having similarities. Can’t say with certainty that this was the case (it’s happenstance) or if it was direct, but it’s always the chance that it was random. But I know what you mean with reading or watching something and feeling like it’s the same as something you just read or watched
