My mum and I tried reading a couple of books together than we randomly came across and really enjoyed reading and discussing them. But we haven’t been able to find something that really clicks for both of us. The two books were “Cloud Cuckoo Land” by Anthony Doerr, and “The Midnight Library” by Matt Haig.

E* I’m very sorry. That was a bit daft, wasn’t it. Didn’t really give anything to work with.

My tastes generally lead towards sci-fi and fantasy (Bobiverse by Dennis E. Taylor, Enderverse by Orson Scott Card, The Inheritance Trilogy by N. K. Jemisin), but I’ve enjoyed a wide range of books that I initially wouldn’t have expected, like The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.

She leans towards psychological thrillers and cozy mysteries. She gave me a list of authors she whose books she enjoys: Terri Blackstock, Freida McFadden, Kristin Hannah, and Lisa Jewel. Currently, she’s reading The Edge of Collapse series by Kyla Stone but says it’s a bit too intense for her tastes. She likes suspense, but not to the point of anxiety. She is also not a fan of long series. She prefers novels, or at most, trilogies.
