    I’m realizing that I don’t have any solid alignment with any political/economic systems (mix of right and left). Rather than the theory behind them, I’m interested in books that analyze where they’ve worked/not worked through specific policies, markets, or examples in history.

    Will add that I’m in high school and not an avid reader, so preferably something accessible, interesting, and focused on recent history. Also would be great to have a focus on the US.

    Some things I’ve read and/or heard of for reference are, Thomas Pincketty’s books (though I feel these might be a bit advanced), Niall Ferguson’s book Civilization, and Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein
