I just got done reading “convenience store woman” by Sayaka Murata on kindle, someone recommended it to me on another sub. I loved it cause I saw myself in the main character – doesn’t understand social rules, unmarried adult with no desire for marriage, and I love my simple minimum wage job and it’s done so much good for me. The main character struggled with not fitting in with society and being constantly judged for not being married and not having a “proper job” at her age.
Anyone else have books about similarly not normal main characters? I have adhd and autism and I realized reading that book that I loved seeing myself in a character for once.
