Just similar to the song Fast Car by Tracy Chapman. Want the feel of being in a kind of hopeless but typical situation and wanting to get away from the place. Doesn’t have to have something big happen to the characters, just the feel of being hopeful but not necessarily actually being in a situation that feels like you’re at rock bottom.
