I was browsing books at a bookstore and I read the blurb for Wrong Place, Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister. I had no idea about the book whatsoever but I picked it up because I really liked the blurb. The book was a great read.
Are there books that you picked up solely because the blurb was just too interesting to ignore?

Tamsyn Muir’s Gideon the Ninth unveils a solar system of swordplay, cut-throat politics, and lesbian necromancers.
I found myself really enchanted by the blurb for My Year of Rest and Relaxation. It’s so simple and yet so evocative and creppy, like it’s hiding something, which I think is very much Ottessa Moshfegh’s strong suit. She can make simple situations skin-crawlingly sinister.
“It’s the year 2000 in the world’s greatest city, aglitter with wealth and possibility.
What could be so terribly wrong?”
Idk maybe I’m just a sucker but something about that last line is so foreboding I knew I had to read it. And I loved it.
That tends to be how I buy most of my books
