It’s a great novel & I love how the vampires are depicted as (somewhat) different from their modern counterparts. Harker’s stay at the Castle was my favourite part of the whole book (I wish we had a lot more of this), but I found the latter half really boring.

It seemed as if it were just dragging on & there wasn’t really any “action” that would’ve been appreciated. And when it finally ended, it just seemed rushed. I mean, I was expecting something out of the movies. Jonathan could have followed Dracula & had a “fight” with him, and ending up killing him with the Cross. Instead of doing that when the vampire wasn’t even able to fight… that’s not even nearly as dramatic as I would’ve liked it to be.

Another issue is that I imagined Jonathan to be the main character, but it was hard to tell when so many others were introduced and he appeared to get less attention.

It’s still an awesome book, though. I’d probably rate it around 8/10.
