Im looking for a romance book, particularly in the fantasy setting, that has a female mc that ISNT like “killing is wrong. you have a choice not to kill. youre better than this blah blah”. Like I understand murder is bad, duh. But in these worlds its very apparent that killing is necessary to survive and i’m getting slightly annoyed that all the females are lecturing others about killing being wrong. Especially if they dont kill off certain characters NPC, the whole “save the world” plan goes out the window. So any book recs where the female mc doesnt give that lecture or act this way???? I havent read one with the male mc giving that lecture yet, but no lectures from him either please. Just survive, prosper and fall in love ffs

How’s about Witching Souls: Fire and Air by Maeve Lindley?

It’s an e-book… I think she has completed part 1 and is soon posting part 2? (At least I hope!)

The Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson. The protagonist Vin is super badass, callous, capable and is talked about as a really strong female character in the fantasy book community

Gideon the Ninth (and the rest of the series) might be something of what you’re looking for. Not a typical romance by any stretch but it’s there. Female leads that definitely embrace the need for killing/death. Very entertaining and very fun overall

    4. The Black Company by Glen Cook – the female mc is a demonic being who doesn’t mind a bit of torture
