I’ve been looking for something like this a long time now and nothing’s quite scratched my itch. I’m an atmosphere lover, that seems to be the quality that grips me most. One of the books cited as inspiration for probably her most acclaimed title, Anatomy, has become my personal favorite over the years; that book is The Haunting of Hill House. I’ve picked up We Have Always Lived in the Castle as well, but admittedly have been searching for something less Victorian and more industrial. Cold cityscapes, radio buzz, abandoned factories, that same enigmatic quality. I’m just hoping to read something that makes me feel the same way. I’d love any and all suggestions, thanks for your time.
