I’m about a hundred pages in and have the most conflicted feeling towards a book I have felt in a long time.
One one hand, I am really enjoying the story and the pace of it. It feels fresh and vivid. On the other, the author’s execution of third-person present tense is really messing with me. To the point that it makes me want to stop reading.
Every sentence for pages and pages starting with She / drives / looks / feels. It’s just so repetitive. Also some of the other writing just feels a bit clumsy. One particular sentence I read just makes no sense at all.
