Growing up, I was taught that picture books like graphic novels are objectively inferior to books without pictures since they are 1. too easy to read and 2. the inclusion of pictures forces books to sacrifice space that could be used for more text-based detail.
Does anyone know of any predominately text-based books that incorporate pictures into them in a unique and/or cool way that succeeds or at least attempts to overcome the aforementioned shortcomings?
