1984 is the quintessential sci-fi classic I would also highly recommend anything by Arthur C Clarke, Rendezvous with Rama is a great place to start, and Issac Asimov, the Foundation trilogy is often considered his best work.
Asimov, Clark & Heinlein are the acknowledged masters of the golden age of sci-fi.
They were all prolific and widely published, you should be able to find their works in whatever format you like

Speaking of classics, you should read [Frankenstein](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/35031085) by Mary Shelley, [The Time Machine](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/455101) and [The Invisible Man](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17184) by H.G. Wells.
