Just finished the Murder of Roger Ackroyd last night and it made me realise something (possible spoiler-y commentary below for it).
I LOVE a good twist! Twisty novels, especially mystery ones, make me feel like a kid getting excited about books again. I read feverishly into the night needing to know how it ends and then when I get hit with the twist I keep thinking about it for hours.
I know loads of people say they see it coming (I saw lots of comments specifically about Roger Ackroyd being “obvious”) but I think my logic brain cells just go blank when I read and I never anticipate the ending, so it’s always fun.
I understand the presence of a twist itself is kind of a spoiler, but I don’t really mind as, as again, I never seem to put it together even when I know one is coming.
SO, with that in mind, give me your twisty mystery recommendations!
I’m happy to go with more Agatha Christie (I’ve already read And There There Were None and Murder on the Orient Express), but also keen to hear other options!
