My girlfriend (27F) just finished Wellness by Nathan Hill and absolutely loved it – the characters and deep detail in fleshing them out, the mystery, how it unfolded over multiple decades and with generational trauma adding heft to the characters’ choices, the lightly satirical tone. She appreciated T&T&T for similar reasons, though that book notably had a bit less of a satirical edge.
She’s keen to find another book in that vein to scratch those itches. She’s already read The Nix (Nathan Hill’s other book) and also enjoyed it.
I suggested The Corrections, Middlesex, and Little Fires Everywhere, but none of them quite land the plane. Open to any other suggestions from folks!
