just finished reading *The Spy and the Traitor*, the true story of a KGB spy who worked as a double agent for British Intelligence during the Cold War. i could not put this book down and my legs were shaking in suspense the whole time i read it.
I had very similar feelings after reading *The Wolves at the Door* by Judith Pearson, the story of an American woman who worked as a spy in Nazi occupied France during WW2.
I feel like there has to be more books out there which fit this niche genre and I need to find them!

{{Witness by Whitaker Chambers}} has some moments of espionage if memory serves.
You might also check out {{The Moscow Rules}}. I haven’t read it, but have listened to many fascinating interviews with the author, a chief of disguise at the CIA during the Cold War.
