Idk man, I liked the play. This one is in Spanish tho, but is sooooo good https://youtu.be/bTb3NcEExho?si=lzaFU1ja0K3EwqpC
As for something similar, it depends of what exactly are you looking for; existentialism? Go with Camus or Sartre, something absurd? Murakami (Kafka on the shore is the better one, I have a love-hate relationship with Murakami); tragicomedy? Go bojack horseman (for real, has a rocky start but it gets incredibly good). Dostoyevsky is kinda heavy, but I like him a lot, specially The Brothers Karamazov. Gogol is good too. Kafka you need patience. Another good one is Milan Kundera (kinda pretentious but the guy pulls some interesting stuff). Now I personally think that “When the wind blows” (animated movie) has strong waiting for Godot vibes, just sadder maybe? (Sorry for the long answer, but it is a difficult question)
