Title \^\^ basically books that feel like they take you through someone’s whole life (better if it takes you through multiple generations!) Some of my favorites that fit under this category are

* The Goldfinch
* Stoner
I’d prefer for it to be fiction rather than fantasy (e.g. The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue)

The complete Malazan Book of the Fallen
Edit- I see your preference but other than the Dune books, I don’t know any others that do it. Malazan is an epic.

“The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” describes events over the course of Evelyn’s 70+ year life. Not sure if it’s exactly what you’re looking for, but it’s a great book!
