So I got this book last year as a gift from a student because my students know I’m a bit of a prepper. The book is called “Teach Like a Prepper: Be As Ready for Your First Day of School As You Are for the Zombie Apocalypse”. Funny title I know.
It took me a bit to get around to it, but once I read it, I found I really enjoyed it. In fact, I have shared it with several co-workers who are now implementing the strategies in the book at their schools. It teaching strategies for lockdowns, fire drills, active shooters, and general classroom safety. It also shows educators how to store supplies, where to get those items, and recommended gear for their classroom. It was an eye opener to me and I have implemented several of the recommendations. It even helped during a recent lockdown we had a few weeks ago.
So if you know an educator, I high recommend this book for them.
