I got assigned to read it in college, so I’ve analyzed it pretty well too lol. The structure was creative, and I liked how to the storytelling was through recipes and the protagonist expressed her frustrations into the mixing etc. This also made reading it super awkward because her forbidden romance caused her to behave weirdly with ingredients, iirc the author described in great detail about how she kneaded the dough while looking at the guy (he’s married to her sister btw). Pedro is all kinds of messed up, how in the world do you claim to “nOt AcTuAlLy LoVe” the other sister and then have a kid -_-?? The fact that they live in the same house and he doesn’t have the audacity to leave in the beginning reveals a lot about this messed up brain. There are so many things in this book that are just messed up. It’s annoying how they dragged food into this with such a poor plot. Dr. John & Alex were the only reputable guys in this entire book, Alex deserves way better than Tita.
