I am looking for some new reads. There’s few lesbian books out there and I have read most of them. I’d love some that are not about coming out and ideally with super natural elements. Love doesn’t have to be a big part of the story at all, I am just sick about reading about this hot, dominant, asshole-dude our protagonist just can’t resist 🤮

    1. Tried to limit myself🤣 Absolutely no lusting after alpha holes & no coming out-all but 1 take place in queer friendly worlds.

•Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir. Often described as lesbian necromancers in space-which is true, but there is little/no romance. The first book is more of an isolated, closed-circle murder mystery with cosmic implications.

•The Burning Kingdoms trilogy by Tasha Suri is eastern/Indian inspired dark fantasy with a sapphic romance. Great series & the final book is out in November. Part of the world is highly misogynistic & there is some homophobia on page.

•Founders Trilogy by RobertJackson Bennett. Great magic system, world building, compelling characters, sapphic relationship.

•Rook & Rose trilogy by M.A. Carrick is excellent. Multi POV, with LGBTQIA rep. Fantasy in a Venice like setting with cons/heists, political intrigue, criminal underworld, social upheaval, secret identities/masked crusaders. Excellent world building, magic systems.

•The Tarot Sequence series by K.D. Edwards is an urban fantasy series with an openly queer main character. Great found family & humor, it is dark & I recommend checking tws before reading.

•Magic of the Lost series by C.L. Clark is a dark military fantasy with sapphic characters. Not for everyone but definitely worth checking out.

•K.B. Wagers writes action packed space s/f with lots of lgbtqia rep. Really love their work, series include: The Indranan War(what if Princess Leia & Han Solo were one person), The Farian War(follow up to the Indranan War), & NeoG(coast guard in space w/intrigue).

•Nghi Vo is an incredible writer with 2 standalone historical American fantasies-The Chosen & The Beautiful, Siren Queen. Also, The Singing Hills Cycle is a series of novellas in a historical Asian setting featuring a Cleric gathering local stories/myths.

•Malka Older, Aliette de Bodard, C.L. Polk, Rivers Solomon are other authors to check out. That’s it, I promise:-)

    2. Sci-fi is my specialty so here’s a couple to check out.

The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers. Great story about a space crew just doing their job with some space excitement and philosophical ponderings. There’s a sweet little romance but mostly found family goodness.

A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine. Beautiful book the preface is one of my fave quotes. The romance isn’t really explored until the second book but the first still has some cute scenes.

This is How You Lose the Time War. Gorgeous prose about two spies on the opposite sides of a time war sending each other letters. Super sweet and does focus on the romance quite a bit.

Seconding the Locked Tomb series it’s an absolute blast!

There’s a ton more but these are the ones that really stand out in my eye 🙂

can’t spell treason without tea by rebecca Thorne is a cozy ish (some conflict at the end) fantasy featuring a lesbian main couple.
