For my Drama monologue HSC I need a book or extract to use however I am not a bookworm. My idea for a monologue would be to play a character that has conversations with a mannequin that they continually dress in different wigs and hats to change its character. It slowly descends into madness as the protagonist is projecting all their unspoken emotions onto an inanimate object. I’d suggest it would have a similar vibe to the movie Pearl (2022) however I do not know a book equivalent to it. Anyone have any ideas for any books about delusional or schizophrenic characters?
