Recently I found out a way to connect with my wife. I read novel (few chapters) every night and then I tell her the story the next day. She doesn’t read. I love doing this and it has improved our relationship. So far I’ve finished Project Hail Mary (she loved it), mountain in the sea (we hated this. Didn’t DND cos I’ve decided I won’t ever DND), All the broken places (we loved the movie and the book). Now I need suggestion for the next one. I love sci fi but I want something that is not too hard to explain in terms of technology or fantasy that doesn’t have too much magic.
I’ve been reading reviews. I liked the reviews for Flowers for Algernon but after reading the first chapter as a preview I don’t think it’s easy to tell the story to her without losing a lot of essence in the details. She loves a twist towards the end. Also she doesn’t like scary stuff. Please give me some suggestions. Also, stand alone books will be great. Don’t want to dwell on series of books.
