My mother-in-law gifted me Peter Brown’s The Wild Robot this Christmaa. It’s the first in a trilogy of chapter books – a bit like modern day Roald Dahl – including illustrations every few pages. It’s about a robot surviving on a humanless island after a shipwreck. Really interesting commentary on the future of AI but also just an enjoyable romp in the woods as the robot learns how to survive and make friends with the wild life. Highly recommend! I’lk be getting the next one soon 🙂

Sounds fun! My kid is only two but I like to keep a list of books he might enjoy as he gets older, I’ll add this one!
My partner and I also greatly enjoyed Wild Robot and it’s sequels. I think the first one is the best, but the whole trilogy is worth the read. I believe the first book is about 4 hours long so it’s not a crazy investment.
I love this book and its sequel! I saw at the bookstore the other day now a third installment.
I as an adult love that book. Bought it for my kids, I think I ended up enjoying it more than they did. Easily my personal #1 book targeted at elementary school students.
