I’m looking to get into reading and reading a novel about samurais or anicent Japan is what is interesting me right now. I’ve never been much of a reader and outside of reading books in school/uni I’ve never really gone out my way to read my own book so I was wondering if there was anything out there for someone like me just now getting into reading. I’ve seen a lot of people recommend Musashi and Shogun but they seem quite long and daunting for someone like me. Just wondering if theres anything thats shorter but also still good.

Well, I haven’t read ‘Shogun’ by James Clavell myself but my father, who generally liked fairly short thrillers, read it and enjoyed it, so maybe you shouldn’t allow the size of the thing to intimidate you.
