I love The Silent Patient’s pacing! That’s it, everything else was underwhelming for me. I knew that the main character is involved somehow, but I was second guessing myself cause the timeline didn’t make sense. Then the final chapters happened and it ended up having a messed up timeline anyway.

The author was doing too much with all the characters he introduced. An obsessed brother in law, a jealous friend, a gambling addicted cousin, a sketchy co-worker, another sketchy co-worker, even a witch aunt. Nothing even came up with the other paintings! And I hated how the diary entries were written. Like, why is there full conversations in there?

But yeah, I liked the pacing. The chapters were short and easy to read. That being said, I need recommendations! Agatha Christie’s already on my list, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is my ultimate favorite. If I start another meh book, I might be forced into a reading slump which I am determined to overcome this year.
