My book club meets once a month and we need to pick a new set of books. The club comprises of all women, some in early 50s, one in 60s, and me (31). We typically read literary fiction, historical fiction, mystery, classic literature, memoirs, nonfiction, but we would definitely accept other genres. Some of the last books we’ve read and enjoyed: All the Light We Cannot See, Killers of the Flower Moon, The Giver of Stars, The Escape Artist, Remains of the Day.
Preferably around 400 pages in length or less. And popular enough that it could be available at the local library. And no explicit sexual content or foul language. We can handle a lot but if it’s super explicit I’d rather not suggest it.
Some books I’ve considered suggesting: Educated by Tara Westover (I’ve been meaning to read it), Once There Were Wolves by Charlotte McConaghy (I read it over the summer and I’m interested in discussing it), Treasure Island (a classic I’ve been meaning to read).
Thanks in advance!
