I have a 6mo with whom we mostly read simple books with rhymes and repetition, Indestructibles, “never touch a” series etc. The idea is for her to actively engage with the books, even if at this age engagement means drooling on them.
More infrequently we’ll read TO her, something with a storyline. This is both to get her used to the activity and to help with language acquisition. So far we’ve all enjoyed Winnie the Pooh.
I’d like to add more titles to this “storyline” category but struggle to find something without darker themes like death, children getting lost/ abandoned etc. Out of a lack of inspiration I’ve switched to reading her passages from the books I’m currently reading, but that’s very very far from what I’m looking for.
Please suggest me benign, wholesome adventure-type books where nobody gets eaten by wolves, lost in forests, swept up by hurricanes house-and-all and so on. Thank you!
