Hello! Been heavy into reading again lately and just finishing up The Inheritance Cycle again. This has been my favorite series since I was a kid and I re-read it every couple of years – this year got to include his newest book.
I am struggling to find books similar. I love the world-building, how vast it all is, and how much detail and history/culture every race has, the politics and strife. Not to mention the characters and relationships, which are many and intricate, but so well-written, and the growth they go through throughout the books. Whenever I go looking for fantasy books, I’m recommended young adult fantasy romance books, of which I’ve read many. And I enjoy them, but they feel so similar, shallow, and forgettable.
I typically enjoy high fantasy more than sci-fi/futuristic settings, don’t mind romance but would prefer it not be a huge focus of the plot, and want a longer series that I’ll get a lot of hours out of. Thanks!
