Fiction recs for adults?

TLDR: any book recs similar to Game of Thrones? It does not necessarily need to be rated R, but more so written for adults, where most of the characters don’t talk and think like teens.

I’ve been getting back into reading after years of not doing so, the first few fiction books I picked up were the ones I kept seeing circulating online, A Court of Thorns and Roses & Throne of Glass. I liked the concept of these books, but reading them was kinda difficult. They felt very juvenile, the characters felt more like tropes than actual people, and it just felt like I was reading a script for a CW show. I guess I’m not the target audience, but seeing as how many grown people were recommending it, I don’t really trust these booktok recs anymore. Any and all suggestions are welcome, please!!

Side note: I’m not against YA novels. I recently read the Avatar novels written by F.C. Yee and LOVED them. It was just so well done, well written, the world building and originality really stood out. Would love more books like his!
