Question: Do you feel like you sometimes miss out on life when you make time in your day to read? And how do you deal with this?

I run into this problem where I sit down with a book, and all of a sudden something happens that I wouldn’t want to miss. Almost like the world only gets interesting when I’m trying to make some time for myself. I’m just wondering if there’s anyone else who feels this way.

    1. You must live in a pretty fascinating environment to have this sort of problem. I don’t really have trouble finding time for reading. I primarily do it before work and on my lunch break. The only other things I’d likely be doing at those times would be something like watching TV or browsing the internet. In that sense, I’m not really missing out on anything interesting to use that time for reading instead.

But ultimately I am just comfortable with the pace of my life, and consequently I don’t find it hard to include reading in most of my days.

    2. Not that I can think of, but I’m one of the biggest introverts/homebodies around — I make an effort to see my friends obviously, but I also just really, really adore being alone with my book haha.

I’ve started prioritizing reading this year and I’m already on book 3. I read instead of mindlessly scrolling on my phone during my lunch break and I’ve started just picking up my book if I’m not doing anything at home. It’s been awesome.
