i normally read nonfiction, but since i started grad school i just cannot seem to make myself read anymore. i feel like switching back to the sci fi books i loved when i was younger could help get me back into reading — are there any sci fi books that had you tempted to power through them in one sitting? for reference, my absolute favorites are Andy Weir’s The Martian and Project Hail Mary (i read Artemis too but it wasn’t quite the same)
TIA!

The Murderbot series. The first few are “only” novellas.
I am not a huge fan, but many people describe Scalzi’s books this way.
If you want relatively light and relatively cozy: Becky Chambers.
If your sense of humour matches his: Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide series.
I bounced off the first book (midway through, I asked myself “was this based on an RPG campaign the authors played?” Answer: yes!), but almost everyone else likes The Expanse. I hear that I would probably like the sequels.
Neuromancer by William Gibson
Hyperion by Dan Simmons
Light from Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki!
