ACOTAR series, though the first book is pretty meh and book 2 is the highlight.

The Books of Ambha duology (Empire of Sand and Realm of Ash) by Tasha Suri. Empire is about the older sister who is forced into a marriage because of her powers. Over time the marriage becomes real. Realm is about the younger sister years later who is widowed and she volunteers to work with the bastard of the emperor to safe the empire after the events of the first book but she isn’t allowed to remarry.

The series is beautifully written and it’s a slow burn, which I love!
The plot can be hard to follow, but great for someone looking for a challenge!
